The Nightmare Before Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Y'All.

I should have published this yesterday because today it might be too late. But whatever you do, don't use FTD to deliver your flowers online. Some of you may have already learned your lesson the hard way, but their system is kaput. FTD SUCKS!

I ordered a dozen roses for the Spousal Unit on Monday for same day delivery, not only to beat the rush, but to let her know that she was on my mind before the holiday. I thought it would be great considering that she was at home that day feeling a bit under the weather. So I make my order online at FTD.com at about 11am Eastern Time. Within 15 minutes my bank account was looted of 75 bucks.

So I check to see if my package has been delivered given the order number I got in my email shortly thereafter. After 3 hours there is still no confirmation number in my email. Fine, maybe they'll deliver it in the afternoon Pacific time. So I called at 9:15 pm Eastern to check by phone. I wait on hold for 40 minutes before they even pick up the phone. I'm getting hot now. Before I even say one word, the sissy on the phone lisps to me that they had now way of telling me. Huh? What? Their system is down.

The system that takes my money works like a charm, and I understand that order processing is a different ball of wax than customer service but this is ridiculous. So I end up calling my house several times clandestinely asking the kids if the flowers got there. No dice.

I got the following email approximately 39 hours after I place my order:

Dear Michael

We regret to inform you that due to holiday volumes, we are unable to process your request for delivery confirmation at this time.
Thank you for purchasing your order through FTD.COM

Sincerely

FTD.COM.
Customer Service

Two full days after they guaranteed delivery, they can neither confirm nor deny that the delivery has been made. I'm livid. Never again in life will I use FTD and I recommend that you take your business elsewhere. If you are feeling especially fed up with incompetence and in the mood to break things, you could do a lot worse than a brick through any FTD logo you see.

Guess what. Lots of people have experienced the extreme sucking suckitude and suckholiness that is FTD.

You have been warned.

If I don't get my money back there will be blogger hell to pay.
