The Sambo Card

Imagine a street hawker offering a strange game of three card monte. All the cards are face up and underneath one card is a $100 bill. They are all Kings, the King of Hearts, King of Diamonds and the King of Spades. The King of Spades, however has been altered to look like a Sambo. The $100 bill is always under the Sambo card, and in fact you can see a piece of it there. This particular street hawker is wearing a white sheet in the style of the KKK. Does the black man take the money? Is he insulted by the Sambo card? Where is his enlightened self-interest?

I say that the proper man is not insulted by this game. For him it is easy money, because he is not plagued by the demons of race. He has achieved a level of self-actualization and is a player in free markets that obviates him from the guilt trips of white supremacy. Moreover, he sees the street hawker as a tool and the recognizes the limits of that game.
