I had lunch with my boy Playa today down at the pier. He told me that when he went to vote, the elderly black lady complimented him. "It's so nice to see responsible black men voting", she said smiling as she handed him a Democrat ballot. He corrected her, asking for a Republican ballot. The smile disappeared.
I thought about that today as I went to my polling place, imagining that there would be black polling workers there who might make the odd comment. "We don't see many black Republicans around here", they might say. My perfect reply. "Would you like to touch my hair?"
