Francis Fukyama seems never to be able to live down what people think he implied in 'The End of History', and although I haven't read either, it seems his answer book has been written too soon. At any rate, he had a lot of explaining to do at the Long Now forum, and I think he acquitted himself favorably.
Highlights: He seems to be true to a sort of neoconservatism which would include a number of Jewish intellectuals of the City U. school who aren't generally seen as conservative. His nemesis is Samuel Huntington whose Clash of Civilization says that culture trumps all and that the European liberal enlightenment was an accident. Finally Fukyama says that the PNAC wasn't all that. He called it basically Irving Kristol and a fax distribution.
