Stevie
This morning - as with every morning I have the great blessing of waking up with a song in my head. Today it was 'All Day Sucker' by Stevie Wonder. I realize that my iPod has been naked, so I set out to remedy that one. It turns out that I have about nine hours of Stevie Wonder and listening to him reminds me of so much that I haven't been talking about on the Old School cultural side of things. I don't think that anyone can listen to Fingertips and recognize how much Stevie had an immediate intimacy with all the dynamic energy of soul music. I still say 'Do I Do' is the happiest song ever written. There's something magical about his Secret Life of Plants album, especially the majesty of his organ fugue 'Ecclesiastes'.
BRK.B
I would have lost a thousand bucks if I had invested in BRK.B a month ago when the impulse hit me. Glad I hesitated. My hint was to change my eTrade password to some verb that makes me think of slowness. The market is second-guessing Warren Buffet big time. In this day when the market bounced something like 900 points, BRK.B lost ground. Astounding.
