It occurs to me that what is going on in most of the Right blogosphere that I concern myself with is that opinion makers are beating the dead horse of Obama's perceived flaws not to win any more converts but to set the stage for what the Right is to believe about him should he win the Presidency.
Aside from the shallowness of political thrash that has everything to do with attempted historical revisionism on Obama's occluded past, it sets up some rather low hurdles for President Obama to jump. Obama, deep in his heart is a Leftist and he has socialist roots and influences. It's anybody's guess how profound those are - what's rather odd however is how few fellow Harvard Law folks have been outspoken on the nature of his character there. I mean we only have a few years to look at, wasn't the time at Harvard longer than the time on the CAC? Who knows? The point is that however socialist his ideas, there's only so much that the President can get away with, and once a President Obama does *not* nationalize the American League and pass out red berets during the newly mandated 3rd inning stretch, how on Earth will we criticize him. I'm not sure the opposition is prepared for the sort of mistakes Obama actually will make.
What's sad and typical but hardly tragic is that Obama, who is capable of putting earnest passion into soundbites about unity, will be ill-suited to unite the nation. And this would be a good time for that sort of thing.
