I think that I should take some time to talk about those things that get out into the media that I hear and I understand but don't mean so much to me. Which is to say, before I get accused of Obama Derangement Syndrome, there are a number of things that I don't disclaim so much as I discount. I'll talk about them and they are things that add up, but they are not, in my estimation, effective offensive weapons.
Obama Wasn't Born Here
I've been impressed with the credentials of the Democrat who just had his ass handed to him by saying he had no standing to sue. But then again he died by the sword. Life in the big city. I think that perhaps his case may have had some merit, but it was a goofy technicality. There's no doubt in my mind that Obama could have shut him and everybody else up by being forthcoming, and I take it as a mark of his character that he didn't. But I wasn't about to jump on that bandwagon and have never mentioned it. Now that bandwagon has a dead horse, I'm sure some will continue to beat it.
Destroying Joe
This is one of those things that I think is really shameful but can't be proven one way or another. That is to say it can't be proven that Obama directed people to rip Joe the Plumber's character and destroy his name.
It is completely reasonable to believe that it is 'merely' a coincidence that it is the big media spotlight. But still, his child support records. It is despicable that Obama supporters would have set out to destroy a man who asked a simple question and got a simple answer because that answer reflects poorly on their candidate. There is no smoking gun, just a dead man on the floor who just happened to make Obama look bad.
Ayers the Ghostwriter
This would sting like hell if it were proven to be true that Bill Ayers wrote Obama's book, but that's really difficult to prove and shouldn't really do more than go to character. I don't need my president to write a memoir before he's in office - it's never as interesting or informative as what's written during and after.
The Closed Plane
Reporters are getting the cold shoulder and expect Obama's White House, should the audacious happen, to be similar to that of GWB. You gets no access.
