I found an interesting, but not particularly surprising exchange.
Subject: An American Troika
Hi folks,
I was just wondering why my post, An American Troika was removed.
Please advise, if I have violated the rules I would like to know so I can
avoid doing so in the future.
Thank You and be Blessed,

You did not violate any rules, your post was fine. This is just a pro-Obama
site and we feel that we already have enough negative Obama
discusions [sic] going right now without having to add yet another one.
Nothing personal against you at all...the truth is...I am just ready for
this election to be over with.

And so DigitalPublius found me. I hope DP finds a comfortable pseud and joins us over here at Cobb, seeing that DP is a friend of LaShawn Barber. One can never have too many points of view, I reckon.
It's an interesting moment because I have decided to delete some name-calling out of the Birth Pains debate and close the comments. I was going to post this and then close the comments, but at the time I didn't think it worth the effort. I have been paying attention to some other rules about how some other blogs are dealing with flames and trolls and I'm getting my own sense of it. In the end, I am primarily concerned with the net weight of the threads in an historical context, and the extent to which Cobb is recognized as a sanctuary for genuine debate and honest inquiry or an echo chamber for noise.
I note that certain folks who used to come around are not around which pains me slightly. But I also note that other recent folks are a welcome addition.
As for the Negro angle, I think we will come to hear a great number of stories about black folks who feel particularly alienated over some of the more gratuitous idolatry, DP I think, provides a case in point.
