Yesterday I was stuck in mobile mode which doesn't play videos on the CNBC website, and so I found myself in a small panic when I couldn't find on YouTube or anywhere exactly what it was the Rick Santelli said. When I finally got a chance to hear it, well, it was just common sense.
Santelli is a great character. He's what I call and empirical genius. He's the kind of guy who doesn't need theories because he's a smart man in the trenches of the financial business every day. And when he doesn't know and knows that nobody else knows, he'll say exactly that. When a guy like Santelli can't get a job in America, I know that the country is finished. Which brings me around to a couple points that few have said much about lately but will be saying soon - which is that Obama's Ivy Leaguers ain't all that, and there are a lot of things wrong with the idea of handing over trillions to the smartest guys in the room at the White House - which is what we'll be hearing from the smartest guys in the room from everywhere else. Santelli is one of them.
