Like the woman who was pregnant when she voted for Obama because she thought he'd change America's health care in time for her baby, a lot of people are going to be disappointed to find that this stimulus plan is not going to be as broad and timely as the economy will be in wiping out jobs.
The targets of the stimulus will be clear, a lot of government spending by government employees and their networks, which are incredibly slow. You will find, I predict, an astonishing reversal by Obama supporters when they start talking about 'no-bid contracts'. And the American people are going to find out what 'shovel ready' means the hard way.
But here's the real pain. How long will it take the government to find you when you get laid off? How long do you think? When is the last time you actually got a job through a government program?
