My latest album is released here.
Sixoseven is my band which consists of me, my imagination, some software and 5GB of feral royalty free-samples that I corral and arrange. Fragmentation is my latest release which includes some old, previously unreleased tracks and some new material. There's really no theme and I threw much of this together over an inspired weekend, thus the title.
Hot Sunday
This is my first cut starring me actually playing the bass guitar. I remember finding the beat and just knowing exactly what bassline should be playing with it. The distortion on the bass actually kinda works. But there wasn't much else to say.
Candy Pops
I composed Candy Pops for Scholar several years ago when she had to do a presentation. Her assignment was to invent a breakfast cereal and sell it to the class. So you have this little sugary piece. I teased her about putting a cricket in the middle of it. It still makes me feel lightheaded and cheerful to hear it.
Thunder Under Water
If somebody told me that I couldn't make a funky danceable song featuring country rock guitar, this would have been my answer. You can feel the energy build up and then I just let the beat drop to remind the shitkickers that I made them boogie with boogie music. But the fact is you can't keep grooving without real live guitars. So this is about as good as it gets. I figure it would be good for a NASCAR promo.
Northridge Breezeway
This is my favorite from the album. It's a kind of meandering smooth ambient R&B hiphop joint. Very 94.7 The Wave. Very chillaxed with a surprise bit of Art of Noise.
Barry Five-0
I had to make a Barack Obama song. So I thought about it for a while. He's like an action TV theme show with a bold groove. But too fast to be classy and still he tries. Really simple to understand. Repetitive but catchy with an upbeat drone. Ends nothing like the beginning.
Wabashaw
Believe it or not, this is my first drum and bass song at 166BPM. I think it turned out very nice. I think I'll do several more of these.
Nasqeron
A tribute to the great gas planet of Iain Banks. Confusing, distorted. I began it a year ago and threw and ending on to it this weekend. It sounds very much like the Sixoseven of yesteryear, ambient house in one key.

Next album I'm going to do a lot of DJ stuff, remixing familiar old school funk dance tracks. I promise some AWB and some Ohio Players, maybe some Confunkshun and Parliament.
