If you look very carefully and closely at the serial numbers and other small engravings on you GI rifle scope, you might find six small characters 'JN8:12'. Pressure has been brought against the manufacturer of the ACOG scope to cease and desist with such high handed messaging. I'm certain this kind of action appeals to Jeff McMahan of Rutgers but I'm not convinced that such matters are convincing.
Crypto Christianity is cool. Well, for me, crypto-anything is cool. So I would probably defend this outside of the principle. But when we have gotten down to the point at which small inscriptions offend, something is very wrong. Is this a significant blow for the separation of Church and State, or atheist evangelism?
