Nulan quoted Clarke and I found in that passage something wonderful. But he didn't cite it and I wondered more at where exactly it came from. And it struck me that I was doing a new kind of thinking that I'm sure I always appreciated but never really took notice until now. What was the most rare and unique phrase in that passage of English text that would make for an efficient search in Google.
It's not that it's Google, it's that it's the unique turning of the phrase, the mind of Clarke eschewing the ordinary communication, avoiding the cliche. Saying something memorable or remarkable without become obscure or cryptic is the magic of a good writer. And it is this skill that helps us to find them in a yottaverse of spew.
