I probably have neglected to spell it out, primarily because I don't care much. But history is a bitch and people always want to know 'what were you thinking?'. So here's what I'm thinking.
1. The Media has a lot of nerve suggesting and keeping alive the suggestion that the outcome of this case is significant for black Americans. IE, this is another presumption about what 'does' happen and 'oughtn't' happen to the 'average black male youth'.
2. What is the name of the town? In Florida? Some flyspec burg? So who cares?
3. No new law. 'Stand Your Ground' is not on trial. And that's Florida anyway. So who cares?
4. I hear that some racially representative factions will decide to riot depending on the outcome of this new 'Trial of the Century'. I recommend rubber bullets and teargas. OK maybe not rubber bullets. How about firehoses?
That's about all. One man dead. Happens all the time. I hear that they've been counting the dead in Chicago, Obama's home town. Something like a couple dozen over the Fourth of July Weekend. But who cares?
I do not have a more serious opinion and I refuse to be accept the notion that I should have one.
