..because you can't make this up., I quote:
A girl had posted a question which sounded approximately like (sorry, I can’t seem to be able to find it): “I am 17, and I have slept with nine guys since I have started having sex. Am I a slut?”
I had a look at the answers.
One person -an adult man- had written an elaborate answer where he told the the girl “Nine men seem like a lot. So, are you a slut? Yes, I would say so.”
Not only somehow the answer had not been downvoted to oblivion, it had a few upvotes! Again: an adult man telling a girl below the age of majority that she is a slut. Where the hell is Quora moderation when it’s needed?
I reported the answer, and some time after this I had another unpleasant interaction with the Quoran who wrote it which made it even more clear he was a misogynistic person, so I decided to block him. It was something I should have done before anyway. I don’t know if the answer was collapsed due to downvotes or deleted, but I really hope so.
Edit: You can find a link to the question I mentioned in the comments of this answer.
Edit 2: I have no intention to engage with those in the comments who say the answer was perfectly legitimate. The nice thing about this kind of topics is that they allow all kind of slut-shamers to come out. But bring it on! You guys are anthropologically interesting.
Edit 3: For those who are planning to read the comments, I’ll make a sum of them for you: “I, male person who’s never been called a slut and has no idea how that feels, think women should be ok being called sluts if they are promiscuous and not consider it at all an insult, because I want to call them like this and because I say so”.
This happened.
