The other day I posted this picture to a thread in Reddit called r/oldschoolcool. Prior to that moment, I had not paid much attention to Reddit. I didn't like the interface. Now at Facebook I don't much like the content, so I'm diversifying my ridiculous hunger to read what people are thinking. Well, it turns out that within 12 hours, over 17k people voted up this item. That makes it the most popular thing, by a wide margin, I have ever posted on the internet. It may not be the most popular thing about me or that I'm included in, but as a standalone artifact, this is the big one.
I wasn't around when this picture was taken so I don't know much about several of the individuals. Edie Robinson on the far left is Bruce Robinson's mother. Bruce was my aunt Sylvia's husband, brother in law to the bride. Next is the father of the bride, my grandfather Edmund Foucher, jazz musician and New Orleans trumpet royalty. Next is Deedah, aka David Cobb, after whom I'm named. My wonderful auntie Kit is my father's sister beautifying the scene next to my mother. Mom, all splayfooted is tickled pink. Pops in dress blues is holding his mother's hand, grandmother Lucille aka Miss Madam. And of course Chico on the right is his old jolly self.
Eventually, my cousin Rod and I will probably be the ones who write the most about these folks and those closest to them not in the picture. I'll be coming back to this spot and adding on interesting stories and facts as I recall them and dig them up.
